What Did We Learn?

Student
Feedback

Students report feeling safe, welcomed, and supported by caring staff while benefiting from high academic expectations, challenging coursework, and the resources they need to succeed. Clubs, athletics, wellness supports, and family engagement opportunities provide a strong foundation for learning and connection. Building on these strengths, students would like more opportunities to share their voice through leadership and school decision-making, along with clearer instruction, timely feedback, and more hands-on learning experiences. They also expressed a desire for an even stronger sense of belonging through respectful relationships, emotional support, and consistent behavior expectations. Families and students are eager for additional interactive events and opportunities to strengthen connections with the school and community.

Family
Feedback

Families describe the school as welcoming, respectful, and academically challenging, with a positive culture that values diversity, celebrates student success, and supports students' emotional well-being and safety. They appreciate the school's communication efforts, including translated materials, and trust the school to connect them with community resources. Building on these strengths, families would like expanded opportunities to prepare students for life beyond school through life skills, financial literacy, and career exploration. They also expressed interest in stronger mental health supports, bullying prevention, additional extracurricular opportunities, and more culturally inclusive practices that elevate student voice. Addressing barriers such as transportation, food insecurity, internet access, and event scheduling would further strengthen family engagement and ensure all students and families can fully participate.

Staff
Feedback

The school has a strong foundation of high academic expectations, supportive staff, and a welcoming, inclusive culture. Students are challenged academically, staff are confident in connecting students to needed resources, and the curriculum supports college and career readiness. Strong community partnerships, successful family events, and recent facility improvements have further strengthened school pride and engagement. Building on these strengths, opportunities exist to expand equitable access to academic supports, career exploration, and enrichment opportunities. Staff also identified the importance of strengthening communication, collaboration, and shared decision-making, while continuing to prioritize student mental health, basic needs, life skills, and staff wellness. Families would benefit from more flexible engagement opportunities and clear communication that helps them stay connected and actively support their children's success.
